Wirral Disability Action Forum

Getting your views to the places that count!

Society is not very good at listening and disabled people and carers have rights, needs and feelings like everyone else.

The Wirral Disability Action Forum meets six times a year to discuss issues that are of importance to disabled people and carers to ensure that their views are taken forward to the relevant bodies where decisions are being made. By doing this, disabled people and carers in Wirral have the opportunity to influence services in the area.

The Forum is supported by Wired who will take the issues raised to the relevant meetings to ensure that your views are considered when decisions are taken.

The Forum is part of the Wirral Community and Voluntary Sector Network that feeds directly into the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). The LSP looks at long-term change in Wirral.

Topics that may be discussed include:

  • Healthcare
  • Transport
  • Education & Training
  • Accessibility of buildings
  • Policing
  • Leisure

If you are a disabled person or a carer who lives in Wirral and you would like to come along to a Forum meeting please contact Wired. The meetings are held six times a year at accessible venues. If you are nervous about speaking out, don't worry the meetings are run in an informal manner and you are welcome to come along just to watch until you feel comfortable in contributing.
