Parent Carer SupportCaring for a child with a disability can leave a parent feeling isolated, under pressure and frustrated.
If you have a child with any type of disability or additional need and would like to influence the policy makers who provide local services – come along to the Wirral Family Forum and meet up with other parents who want to influence services provided for their children.
The Forum members meet monthly at an open meeting normally held at Wallasey Town Hall 10.00am until 12.00pm.
Please see details of meeting dates
The Wirral Family Forum is recognised as the main parent carer forum on Wirral for the Local Authority to approach when seeking parent involvement and consultation. The Forum works in partnership with Children and Young Peoples Department and also the Department of Adult Social Services. For the past three years the Forum has been successful in applying for funding from the Government through the Aiming High for Disabled Children Parent Participation Grant which was used to develop the forum further, provide training for parents, hold information and fun days, provide promotional material and develop a new Wirral Family Forum website.
The website will shortly be completed and will have it’s own online forum for parents to speak to each other and find out information. Website: www.wirralfamilyforum.org Email: info@wirralfamilyforum.org
